During the first quarter of 2001, Icom introduced two new airband radios: the Icom A5 and the Icom A23. These radios are only available is certain countries. The A5 and A23 radios require a higher speaker impedance than previous Icom airband radios which may cause a compatibility problem with some existing Lynx products. |

Compatibility Problem: Lynx products which are set to work with the later type Icom airband radios (Icom A3/A4/A22) may be connected to the Icom A5 and A23 radios by using a CT-44 Adapter. However, a noticeable high pitched tone may occur during transmission (feedback). Equipment Affected: The following Lynx products may not work correctly with the Icom A5 and A23 radios.
Date of Manufacture: All products manufactured after April 2001 are fully compatible with the Icom A5 and A23 radios. Products manufactured between June 2000 and April 2001 can be updated to work with these radios free of charge. Products manufactured between June 1995 and June 2000 can be updated to work with these radios for a nominal charge. Products manufactured before June 1995 can not be used with these radios. Product Labeling: Only equipment which is labeled as follows is completely compatible with the Icom A5 and A23 radios:
